Small Machinery Engineer/Parts Advisor

by Sam Robson on April 14, 2021

We are looking to recruit a Small Machinery Engineer/Parts Advisor to join our busy Groundcare team at Knockdown.

This role is shared approximately 50/50 between the parts and service departments, although this may vary depending upon seasonal demands.

The aim of our Service Team is to provide a reliable first time fix on all repairs to ensure that customer downtime is kept to a minimum, and the successful candidate will have the skills necessary to achieve this.  You will have a technical understanding of small groundcare machinery, strong diagnostic skills, and a broad knowledge base covering a variety of equipment.  In addition to carrying out PDI servicing and repairs on small machines you will also support the workshop during busy periods.

In terms of the Parts aspect of the role, the successful applicant will provide support to internal and external customers with parts and ancillary product requirements.  You will have the experience and expertise to provide parts advice to all customers across our product range and an understanding of parts identification methods for all our suppliers. Responsibilities include ordering, pricing and invoicing parts, receiving stock and maintaining parts files.  You will be comfortable dealing with customers in person, over the phone, and by other e-communications, ensuring that they receive the high standard of service they expect.  The ability to upsell would be an advantage.
